die Anleitung oben macht sowieso 0 Sinn da bereits der aktuelle Glidewrapper von Sven mit D2SE zusammen installiert wird.
D2SE hat mit AERO sowieso keine Probleme und das einzige was man manuell machen muss ist auf der game.exe desktopstyling und visuelle designs deaktivieren, als administrator ausführen und Kompatibilität zu xp sp3 aktivieren das wars.

then install the newest displaydriver of your graphiccard from the site of the manufacturer or switch to D3D.

Hi there,

(I'm writing this in english, so our friends from abroad can understand this, hopefully.  )

As I mentioned before (here, here, and here[german]) i ran into problems starting D2 with glide enabled on my S3 Chrome onboard graphics chip.

So i played around with the gilde config, and the game works using this settings:


I just wanted to share this with everyone, if the pic isn't online anymore, here are the settings as text:
GL_EXT_vertex_array: disabled
GL_ATI_fragment_shader: disabled
GL_ARB_fragment_program: disabled
WGL_ARB_render_texture: disabled

all other extensions are enabled, what I didn't figure out was, if now ALT-TAB in and out of the game will work (previously I got distorted black screens in the game, when I alt-tabbed back in it, very annoying for muling purposes in Single-Player).
interesting: alt-tab worked in D3D-Mode for the Modification "Sanctus" but not for MedianXL and SNEJ.

I will update this post with the alt-tab-test results as well as an german translation for the users from german speaking countrys, who don't speak english.

Hi  Since Nvidia's 275 drivers (275 beta, 275 and 280 beta)  using Win7 64bits
The glide wrapper dosn't work properly, the game takes a lot more time to start when using the wrapper, what happens is that I get a white screen for 2 minutes before the game start (before the video part) Sometime it just freeze for ever when unlucky. 


I don't know if the creator is still here, and if he's here if he still want to work on it, but it can be usefull to know

Edit : If i remember corectly, Nvidia updated the opengl thing, and the wrapper uses it

do you have the problems using original game.exe or using game.exe from original d2 ?

i'm using the game.exe i have since 2001 since i never re installer Diablo II
i'm using the game.exe from blizzard, i never modified it, version 1.13.
Playing Lord of the Destruction.


The problem happens with lastest drivers, since Nvidia updated some opengl things, if i corectly remember the wrapper uses opengl to simulate glide, i guess that the wrapper need to be adapted.


Game.exe have thoses compatibility modes : Execute as admin, Disable desktop composition.


problem happens only when trying to start the game using the glide wrapper + Nvidia's driver from 275 or higher on Win7x64

Hi,

try disabling desktop styling too and set compatibility to xp/sp3.
Try if it works with D2SE as i fixed several bugs of original game.exe

Try to fiddle with the settings inside glide-init.exe

It happens only when starting game, before the cinematics (Blizzard north and all)


Few times it don't completly crashed, i didn't had problems in game, but didn't played long.
