I tried a basic setup without changing much (only altered Plugy.ini and d2se_setup.ini)
Nothing was really off, except a lot of things were named "An Evil Force" I guess since the game could not locate the actual information, that I probably omitted by doing a basic quick D2SE setup.
I ended up deleting the mod.

I am sure if Selts has time, he will help with that mod; however, I would much rather see the new version of D2SE that was expected last December, but Selts had some problems with his landlord and had to put it on hold.

yes new D2SE is what i expect with passion  ;D . To be honest, i was just trying to help out the user, if was something doable with ease.

Anyway, a reinstall of the english diablo and the mod seems to have fixed my inventory problem, i triewd the game untill the clean of the den and didn't found any evil force; but i'm pretty sure all those stuffs would be fixed with the polish version as core install.

I understand, and also tested it to see if I could figure out a method on how to play it.
I didn't have the graphical errors you described and provided screens of, just the weird item naming issues.

the problem is that there is no international english version of the mod and the mod is not fixed to polish language (and the unique polish version files are not added to the mpg/data) this is a thing the modder should fix if he is interested in having a d2se version. At least he should be interested in having his mod working on any d2 installation and not only in native polish installs. He is free to ask me for help and informations.

Hi,

im still working on several things at once.
At the moment the new realmserver has my priority. And somehow im lucky i not already released the modmanager as Yohan just released the sources of plugy ... maybe this will speedup plugy replacement and d2se integration. but i have to first do a close review as plugy is and was buggy so i not simply can copy&paste but will reimplement it in a compatible way.. and of course it must run with 1.13d as d2se V2.3 does too.

Hello Seltsamuel,

What you have been accomplished so far is SO great in the name of community undeniably. As it seems this upcoming version has been delayed, exceeding beyonds of your intentions. But how about considering to release that up-coming version a little earlier ever since it has already been nearly two years of that obscure bug being solved. As a 1.13d player I've been quite impatient lately not cause it took much longer this time, but for the sole fact that you deny releasing it in the time you were able to do so, but instead gone with intentions of  fixing other things at once, thus we still have nothing in our hands sadly. You probably have thought of this for sure but you could always update new version in time after actual backbones are initially launched.

What do you think ?

Hi,

no thats not the reason ..
the reason was that through the changes and there were a lot of internal ones the code got unstable and crashed. This is not a launcher its a replacement of the inner gameloop so this results in sporadic crashes. This is not the type of software i want to release and no one stops you from installing d2se and still play 1.13d unmodified as its still the latest release. D2SE is not meant to get new releases every 2 weeks its spread all over the world and is used in china russia africa .. many places and i want to have reliable releases. At the moment im adding important fixes to it that had shown to be important lately after i opened my own realm so i incorporate them and if all goes well the next release gets already its new ui that will be multilanguage but this depends if its doable in short time as else i really decide to release it in a later release. Only to make this clear at the moment i use my entire freetime beside of operating the realm for development of D2SE even today at my birthday i programmed 2 hours on D2SE as i really want to release it soon.... but not at any cost .. it has to work as I expect it to work as im not blizzard abusing the comm as betatesters and i too have not the resources to support 1000 topics a day because of bugs and to create 10 patches a week.

What I actually meant by not being able to play it, of course not considering unmodified game itself, otherwise why on earth any third party software to do with it like yours...
My initial thoughts were on the side that the anxiety of missing 1.13d updates, moreover I was about to experience Median mod for the first time but ever since its a total conversion mod and very different to vanilla system of the game I would have miss nothing at all by sticking with1.13c, right ?

Hi,

the differences between 1.13c which is supported and 1.13d that is supported in the next release are minor.. at least 2 fixed bugs are the only interesting thing there at all. One of them is the 27 states bug and the other the multi death event (FE Bug). No new content and nothing to miss..

You mentioned in another topic that the file you'll be putting the PlugY features into will be called "D2SE_Utility.dll".  Given the name, will there be anything else you'll be putting in this file, or just the PlugY port?


Also, will it use the same config file (PlugY.ini), or something new we'll have to port into?

the D2SE_Utility.dll will be much more than only a PlugY port it will hold many different codeedits that a modder can enable and use. Because i dont want to release plenty of .dll files i put my collection into this single file that will be target of several updates. There is no releasedate at the moment as i have first several other things to finish but i expect a first version at least this year. Regarding PlugY.ini .. as plugy sources were released the plan is to implement my version in a way it reads the old .ini too to be compatible but you may understand that my code will be different in many places so it depends on how doable this will be. At least i will try to create a 100% compatible enhanced version.

I rather thought that to be the most likely scenario.  If you don't mind me asking, what other tools / edits are you considering merging or have already merged with this file?

Hi,

extended levels / objects
several Quest edits
.ogg as audioformat useable
and plenty other edits i want to port from Snej and things i discovered but do not use in Snej.
Many of this edits you may find in D2Mod and other systems but the point here is that as its written with the D2SE Modsystem it will (at least should) offer all this edits in any D2 Version that D2SE supports in a single .dll

I know you're probably busy with a million things right about now, but I am curious (and eager) about where you stand in the development of D2SE v2.3.  I know I'm not the only person waiting with bated breath for any news you have to offer. 


Something else I've been wondering:  Given that many existing modplugins have their config files reading 1.13c, will D2SE interpret those as 1.13d or will we need to reconfigure our existing plugins to switch?
